Alexandria is the second largest city in Egypt, and it is more Mediterranean than Middle Eastern. The governor called Alexandria "The pearl of the Mediterranean sea and Egypt". Alexandria was founded by Alexander the Great in the 5 th B.C{Romans generation}.The old city in the 5 th became the capital of the Greekand Roman Egypt. The ancient Alexandria is considered the center of culture and learning of the ancient world, so the Romans and Greeks are used the Hieroglyphic language to write books by ancient Philosophers in Alexandria. They are also used the lighthouse to guide the ships to the right route. The legendary lighthouse was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.Alexandria is a beautiful city to spend good time with family and friends. We can do a lot activities like: visit famous places, celebrate Christmas, and do many things in night time in Alexandria.

Visiting famous places is important for spreading the culture in Middle Eastern and Egypt.The new library of Alexandria is one of the most important sites that we have to visit in Alexandria to reflect the revival of the ancient library of Alexandria. Building a new library was a great project to develop the culture.The library has500,000 million books from different civilizations, and it has also a lot of ancient maps for the creation of Alexandria in the 5 th.Alexandria has a few ancient manuscripts written Hieroglyphics and other manuscripts that burned in the5 century.The library has eleven levels. Stanley Bridge is one of two main roads in Alexandria. It has a short length and width.In addition,we can walk on the Cornish to enjoy the fresh air and see a beautiful view of the sea, especially the sunset and sunrise. We can also enjoy a good time at the beach because Stanley has a lot of cabins with different view.Stanley Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Alexandria.

The Value of Reading

As C.W. Eliot said, “Books are the quietest and

most constant of friends; they are the most

accessible and wisest of counselors; and the most

patient of teachers.” Reading a good book is

even better than having a great counselor. We

can find comfort and the help we need from

books. The Information Age generally accepted that reading is very important. Food is indispensable to life, and reading is essential for living. Having a good counselor in our life is

necessary since he/she would give us advice and help us to grow to become a better person.

Reading is something that can make one’s heart twinkle forever and uncover the magical sunrises that await you. Reading good books would provide the advice we need and to help us make better decisions.

Reading can be a great hobby and a leisure activity which can be done anywhere at any time. It is the supplest of all different ways to acquire knowledge. For instance, we can always read before going to bed. Instead of talking to a counselor, we can easily find peace and joy from

reading fiction or nonfiction books, which may prepare us to have a good night sleep. Whenever

we have spare time, such as on the train, the bus, or the plane, we can always find something to

read based on our interests to satisfy our desperate needs of knowledge. Just like a counselor,

reading can comfort us and it can even be done during our leisure time.

Furthermore, in our daily life, we would encounter different things. It is even better than a

counselor since we don’t have to make an appointment or spend a lot of money to find help.

There are many reading choices, such as fictions, nonfictions, newspapers, magazines, and

advertising flyers which are distributed everywhere or posted everywhere. Knowledge may be

obtained in many ways, but the best and the easiest way of getting knowledge is through

eading. Reading may help us to gain a variety of different knowledge. For example, I love

reading newspapers because they contain a large amount of information from different countries

from around the world. Nevertheless, not every counselor can provide good advice; however,

we can always find something new to learn in different readings. Therefore, finding the right

book to read would always benefits us more. There are all kinds of books in the society, but

what I want to emphasize is that no matter what we are interested in, we should read

selectively.

Besides, I can always find the advice I need through reading books. In most cases, I like to

read books that are nonfiction. Unlike fiction which can take you into a fantasy land, nonfiction

would have information that reflects reality. Nonfiction also analyzes culture and humanity in

different ways. It provides me with examples on how certain people resolve their crisis, or how

one becomes successful. When it is difficult for me to make a good decision, reading nonfiction

books would help me become familiar with the situation. I can also find comfort from reading

knowing that someone had been through what I am going through now. Sometimes, it would

even help me to improve my analytical skills. Therefore, reading would help me to make a

better decision.

Consequently, reading is helpful, important and essential. Even better than having a good

counselor, reading can help us to become a better person because we can always find comfort

and advice through good books. Good books are usually flooded with all kinds of information

about our life, so we should make a habit of reading.

Everyone has different hobbies, and reading is one of my hobbies. If you are gloomy or bored, you should read a book. Reading is great a hobby because it’s completely free activity that you can do. You will learn a lot of things from books, and you can enter a fantasy world.

First, reading is a completely free activity that anyone can do. Reading is suitable for all kinds of people, such as old people, young people or children. You can read your book everywhere, such as in a park, library, and train or some where you feel comfortable. In addition, there are two ways for you to borrow a book. First, you can go to library and take it home for free. Second, if you like computers, you also can find news articles, magazines or some other interesting stories in the internet, so you can just stay home and read them. It is also free.

Second, you can learn many things from reading. You can learn about famous people over the world, such as their poems, proverbs, and experiences. Maybe there are some famous people you’ve never heard of. You can learn about culture of countries; it learns about culture from around the world and let you compare what is the difference around the world. You can also learn different subjects, such as history, geography or psychology. Reading books can help you with your courses, so you can connect reading to your courses.

Finally, reading a book is like a movie in your head. It would let you enter a fantasy world. When you are reading a story just like a movie playing in your head, you can imagine everything by yourself. If you like science books, you can produce a science fiction movie in your head. If you like love stories, you can produce a romantic movie. You can think about whatever you want to.

Therefore, reading books is great hobby. It just let your brain keep working and makes you intelligent. Knowledge is never ending; there are lessons for you to learn from outside of school. Otherwise, you can look for happiness, look for fun, know the famous story of biography and history, so reading books is helpful for you to learn about the world. You will acquire a lot of knowledge from reading

Christmas is my favorite holiday

“Merry Christmas”, I love this greeting. Christmas is my favorite holiday, I really enjoy this special holiday. I have celebrated every Christmas with my family and friends since I was a child. I am very exciting and get the most relaxation during this holiday. When the holiday comes, presents are exchanged, the city seems to be filled with good spirit, and my whole family gets together.

Exchanging presents is the best way to celebrate Christmas. People can be closer by exchanging presents. The first thing you should do is prepare the presents for the family members and friends. I usually buy a lot of different gifts for them. Then I separate and wrap each gift for everyone. I am very happy when I know how excited they are as they receive the gifts. I always like to guess what I will receive from my family and my friends. It is so exciting to receive the gifts.

The second reason that I love Christmas holiday is the city seems to be filled with good spirit. The stores have gorgeous Christmas decorations. There are a range of toys with the Christmas greetings and Christmas pictures in the store. The owners of restaurants make special diverse food with good price for the holiday. The Christmas songs are fill the city. In additional people wear the beautiful Christmas clothes. They go shopping, have fun and keep a smile on the face all day.

Finally, I like Christmas the best because my whole family gets together. We all take vacation on the Christmas day. We usually buy a lot of food such as meat, vegetables, fruit, and snacks. We enjoy the food together. After the dinner, the whole family relax in the living room. We watch TV, talk, and play games. The children are the most exciting because they would be allowed to eat more snacks and to play for hours.

Christmas is the best and most exciting holiday. People greet each other with “Merry Christmas” on the holiday. It is wonderful how presents are exchanged. The city seems to be filled with good spirit, which reminds us that our lives are so beautiful. It is so gentle and fragrant that the whole family gets together. I hope everyone in the world could enjoy every Christmas just like my family.

television become the most popular entertaiment and education device in the human society. There are three ways to learn something by watching
the news, study classes on the education cannel and watch "how-to " show on the TV.

In America people spent more than twenty-million hours on watching television every year. We can keep up on what's happening in the world by watching the news, such as politics news. The hotest news of politics news is Presidential Election resently.We can watch the speech or the debates of candidates and their views on changing the lifves of us over the election on the television.The younger generation like to watch the entertainment news,
like the new albums of music, music videos and movies.They like to know the news about singers, movie stars too.About sports news, there're a large amount of fans too. I'd say that the 2008 Olympic in China got all the attentions of every people in the world.

There are some classes offered through the television also. the images and the sound on the TV screen can be good for your memory. It is better than you just read the book. It can help you achieve your educational goals. The educational access channels producers programed the high quality classes for us and our family too. You can get college degree with television programs.Encompassing a wide range of subjects. It includes Math,History and Business..... It provide the live interactive programing,
ineractive DVDs and video base. You feel just like you are study in the classroom. Thoes just a few of the amazing programs of the education channel.

You can watch "how-to" demonstration through the television,
such as how to cook ,how to dance and how to keep youself healthy. All kinds
of interesting things are useful in our lives. I like to watch how to keep your
self healthy. It shows you and your families how to eat right, how to exercise
and how to keep away from diseases.Thoes are more fun and useful for
everybody who want to have a relax time.

Althrough some some people said that watch TV is wasting time and some TV shows can have bad effect for children.I still think TV shows
have thier passtive way for us to watch.When I watch TV with my youger brother. He likes to watch "Sesame Street", "Scooby Doo".He has nothing but pleasant memories with happieness, peace, understanding and learning.When the
family sit in front of TV and watch shows together,laugh together,and learn together. What a happy family time!

Above all, watching TV is educational.

doubt, it provides the widest education and has the largest audience. Everyone

Christmas is my favorite holiday

There are many holidays celebrated throughout the world. Christmas is one of the traditional holidays to celebrate the birth of Jesus. No one knows the exact date of Christ's birth, but most Christians observe Christmas on December 25. On that day, many people like to go to church to enjoy their time, to stay together at home with family and to sing Christmas song. Christmas is my favorite holiday because of the presents, the good spirit of the city and my family getting together.

Firstly, it is well-known that the Christmas holiday is about spending the time for gift giving. Everyone is happy to exchange presents, which is a traditional custom to express our wishes to our friends, relatives and co-workers. Every Christmas holiday I receive many different kinds of precious presents. Last year, I received a Christmas card from my best friend Mei, that was one of a beautiful and unique gift for me as it was made by Mei herself. Giving is a joy seeing the one opens a present with joyful emotion, and receiving is the time with surprise and delight. Every year, I enjoy the moment of choosing some special gifts for my friends, relatives and partners. Even as time goes by, our memory of Christmas holiday will stay forever as our precious presents.

Secondly, when Christmas is coming, the city seems to be filled with good spirit. Every place has displays of various decorations including Christmas trees, lights, nativity scenes and holly. People are well dressed to celebrate Christmas traditional holiday. You can hear different Christmas songs and poems anywhere, and you can see the red hats and dresses fill with the world. We are like princess in a fairy kingdom. I am accustomed to hanging out with my friends on that day as we can receive the special gift from Santa Clause. It is a wonderful time for us to embrace ourselves into a city with good spirit.

Finally, Christmas is a time for family to be together. We get together to decorate our house and be ready for our Christmas dinner. My younger sister and I always volunteer to decorate Christmas tree with gifts, lights and dolls, and my parents prepare our delicious dinner which is with turkey, pudding, and roast duck. I like to stand by my parents to learn how to make a turkey, but until now I still haven’t learned to how to make it delicious, so the only thing for me is to enjoy our dinner. After our dinner, our family spends this wonderful time singing songs and chatting with each other. Laughter and happiness are full of our house. Christmas almost always creates a sense of family and belonging.

Christmas is celebrated in most countries around the world, which has both a strong religious and traditional meaning. The Christmas holiday is an amazing time for me, because I love the presents, the good spirit of the city and being together with my family. The Christmas holiday is approaching, I hope Santa's bag is stuffed full of goodies for all of us in 2008.

Christmas is my favorite holiday

There are many interesting holidays such as New Years and Thanksgiving, but my favorite holiday is Christmas. Saying “Merry Christmas” is the best wish to your friends or family. I remember my parents used to tell me some Christmas stories when I was young. Moreover, people exchange presents, have parties, and there are lot of convivial atmosphere you can feel; as a result, I’ve started enjoying this holiday and always anticipate Christmas Day. There are several reason of why Christmas being my favorite：It’s a great time to take a break, there are many activities to do, and, my family gets together.


Christmas is a perfect time that I can have a good rest. Normally, I have to attend school or do other jobs, and the onset of stress can happen rather quickly. Thus, I discovered Christmas is a great time which can let me get more relaxed and release stress. For example, studying every single day is my job, and I can never get enough sleep. For this reason, I could sleep at home a whole day without annoyance, or I could watch my favorite TV program during the holiday. This could be kind of enjoyable. On the other hand, I could have a vacation with my family or friends. I can have more fun and leave unhappy things all behind of me. Also, I could enjoy delicious meals with my family at home or with friends in a restaurant.


In addition, there are many activities during Christmas. Usually there are huge sales at that time, and people are expected to buy gifts for their family and friends. Parents especially will buy gifts for their children because of the Santa Claus story. Basically, every family is going to build a Christmas tree and put in front of their house. I think this is the most interesting activities. Also, the department stores will have a huge and attractive Christmas tree in front of their doors. I do love decorating Christmas trees. I feel terrific decorating this tree because when I look at these shining things, lights and dazzling adornments on the tree, it’s seems I’ll be lucky all the year.


Moreover, having a dinner with family and gets together talking with each other is wonderful. People are usually busy of their job; therefore, they don’t have too much time get together with their family and during the dinner, Family’s member often talk about their memory, some interesting stories when they were young, their experience of work, or their future plans. I had a lot of fun talking with my family and sometimes, I learned something from the seniors. After the meal, we play games, like poker or have snowball Fights. The family’s coziness emerges from these events.


In conclusion, Christmas is a good holiday that people can have time doing their own things and has many interesting activities. I think the most important and responsible thing is take some time to visit family and enjoy time with them. For all these reasons, Christmas has become my favorite holiday. As soon as Christmas is coming, I am very excited. I hope I could meet my parents soon, get a lot of gifts, and have lots of fun with my family and friends in Christmas Day.
